School Uniform at Mulgrave

At Mulgrave Primary School, we believe our uniform brings us together as one community. It reflects our shared values, promotes belonging, and is a visible symbol of the pride we take in ourselves and our school.

We expect all children to wear the correct uniform, arrive well-presented, and take pride in their appearance—with the support of parents and carers. While we don’t have strict summer or winter rules, clothing must be smart, weather-appropriate, and comfortable for learning.

Wearing our uniform shows children are ready to learn, ready to take part, and proud to be part of the Mulgrave family. Thank you for supporting us in upholding these standards.

School Uniform Requirements

●      Trousers, skirts or shorts: Dark grey

●      Polo Shirt: White or light blue polo shirt

●      Dress: Blue and white gingham (preferrably for the spring/summer months only)

●      Jumper/Cardigan: Royal blue sweatshirt, fleece or cardigan

○      Alternatively, royal blue items from high street stores are also acceptable

●      Socks or tights: Plain white, black or grey

●      Shoes: Plain, flat black shoes or plain black trainers (no coloured soles, laces, logos or designs)

Shoes must fit properly, be weather-appropriate, and well maintained to avoid trips and injuries

PE Kit

On your child’s PE day (check the weekly newsletter for days), they must come to school wearing their PE kit:

●      Tracksuit: Black or navy joggers/shorts and sweatshirt or hoodie

●      T-shirt: Plain white

●      Footwear: Trainers (not school shoes)

Wearing PE kit on PE days avoids lost time getting changed and supports children’s privacy and comfort.

Uniform Standards

All uniform must be:

●      Clean and well maintained

●      Clearly labelled with your child’s name
