Extended Day Childcare

What is Extended Day Childcare?

Mulgrave’s Extended Day Club is open to children from Nursery to Year 6 and offers a cost-effective service designed primarily to support working parents. We gladly accept childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare accounts to help make childcare accessible for all families. Our goal is to support children’s growth emotionally, socially, cognitively, physically, and creatively—all while making sure they have plenty of fun!

Understanding that some children spend long days at school, our family-focused, nurturing wrap-around care ensures every child feels welcome, safe, and enjoys their time with us. It is important that we ensure we can meet your child’s needs safely and effectively. Our aim is to make the club an inclusive space for all children. If your child has SEND and you require a place in either the Breakfast or After School Club, please contact Kim De’Ath our Extended Day Manager to discuss your child’s needs and the options available to meet your childcare requirements.

What do we do at Extended Day Childcare?

Each session is packed with exciting indoor and outdoor activities—from watching movies and cooking, to computing, sports, games, and dance. We also celebrate children’s birthdays with a special party every Friday evening! Plus, we’ve recently refurbished the kitchen area, creating a beautiful, welcoming space where children can relax and feel right at home.

What are the opening hours of Extended Day?

Breakfast Club: 7:30am – 8:55am
Extended Day Service: 3:30pm – 6:00pm

In the morning, children are warmly welcomed by a member of the Breakfast Club team and have the chance to enjoy time playing with their friends in various clubs. They are also provided with a nutritious breakfast, including toast, cereal, fruit, and drinks. At 8:55am, our younger children are accompanied to their classrooms by a member of the team, while older children are encouraged to develop their independence by making their own way to class.  At the end of the school day, children attending the Extended Day Club are safely escorted to the Studio by a staff member, where they are greeted by the club team. Parents collect their children by ringing the buzzer at the main foyer entrance, and a member of staff will bring the children to meet their parents for a smooth and secure handover.  We warmly welcome children from Cardwell Primary School for our extended day services and provide a safe escort from Cardwell to Mulgrave for added convenience.
